Brown Bag it with MoCNA: IAIA Artist-in-Residence Talk

Bring your lunch and join IAIA Artists-in-Residence as they discuss their artistic practice. All artists conclude their month of participation in the IAIA Artist-in- Residence program on the IAIA campus with this event. Featuring IAIA A-i-R artists, Athena LaTocha (Hunkpapa Lakota/Keweenaw Bay Ojibwe), Frank Buffalo Hyde (Nez Perce/Onondaga), Jason Reed Brown (Koyukan Athabascan)and Wanesia Spry Misquadace (Fond du Lac Ojibway).

Holiday Sale and Performance Weekend
December 9-10
Saturday 9am-6pm and Sunday 12noon-5pm
MoCNA Store
Holiday shopping all weekend long at the museum store offering discounts on the finest American Indian artwork. Museum members receive 20% off store purchases. Non-members receive 10% off store purchases. (Consignment and sale items not applicable for discount). Complimentary gift-wrapping, refreshments, and more!

Helen Hardin Media Gallery
Please join us for a performance by Connective Tissue exhibition artist Charlene Vickers (Anishinaabe). Occupations and Assertions is a multi-media performance work referencing the armed occupation by the Ojibway Warriors Society (OWS) of Anicinabe Park in Kenora, Ontario in 1974.

If you aren’t a member, now is the time!

Members are invited to join the museum for a special holiday event with noted Iroquois singer, composer and acoustic guitarist, Joanne Shenandoah PhD, one of “America’s most celebrated and critically acclaimed Native American musicians of her time,” Associated Press.
